Getting to Know Rodrigo Vasconcelos: A Fun Chat About Life, Music, and More!
We posed some entertaining questions to Rodrigo, spanning topics from music to tres leches cake. Here are his responses.
What’s the latest element of teaching you’ve adopted for your studio?
"We are starting to test drive Piano Marvel—how exciting!"
Who else in your family plays music?
"Let’s see: me, my wife, both of my kids, my in-laws (mother, father, both sisters), my parents, and a few uncles and aunts!"
That’s a whole musical family! Now, switching gears… What’s your favorite dessert?
"Tres leches cake."
Delicious! Speaking of things you love, what’s your relationship like with plants? Houseplants, gardening?
"While I love gardening, it appears that my love catches the attention of weeds more than the ornamental things we have around the yard."
Haha, I think a lot of us can relate to that! What about pets—what pets have you had over the years?
"Dogs, cats, a bearded dragon, parakeets, and a sloth (not really a pet, but it lived on a tree in my childhood home in Brazil)."
A sloth? That’s amazing! Now, if you could pick one historical figure who fascinates you most, who would it be?
"Napoleon Bonaparte."
Interesting choice! How about travel—what’s your favorite way to get around?
"Airplanes or really long car trips."
A little bit of adventure, a little bit of relaxation—perfect mix. So, what types of social gatherings do you enjoy the most?
"I love being around people and exchanging ideas. So, whether it’s a coffee break with a colleague or a concert gala with a large attendance, I’m comfortable!"
You sound like such a people person! Now, can you describe your first car for us?
"A 1992 Fiat Elba."
Classic! Last question: What’s one skill set you never wish to master?
"I am always looking to learn something new."
Rodrigo co-directs his own studio, Piano Players, in Mason Ohio with his wife, Shannon. You can check out his bio and studio on his website at www.pianoplayers.org
